LOTUS SLIPPERY ELM BARK POWDER 125G
Lotus Slippery Elm Bark Powder is derived from the inner bark of the slippery elm tree, which is native to North America. Slippery elm contains a mucilage, a polysaccharide, that form a gel-like substance when mixed with water. The mucilage is what’s responsible for the many benefits of slippery elm. The mucilage coats and soothes the mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines. It also contains antioxidants that help relieve inflammatory bowel conditions. Slippery elm causes reflux stimulation of nerve endings in the gastrointestinal system leading to an increase in mucus secretion. The increased mucus production protect the gastrointestinal tract against ulcers and excess acidity.
Slippery elm also can be used in a healing salve to treat several skin conditions like wounds, boils, burns and psoriasis and several other conditions.
