Manuka honey is a monofloral honey meaning it’s sourced from one type of flowers the Manuka trees (Leptospermum scoparium) which are native to New Zealand and Australia. Manuka honey is more potent than normal honey due to the higher concentration of MGO (methylglyoxal).
Manuka honey is an excellent antibacterial and a bacterial resistant meaning bacteria cannot build up tolerance to it. It boosts the immune system, eases stomach aches and improves digestion and it clears infections. And when applied topically Manuka honey acts as a healer of cuts, scrapes and burns.
